About

All-in tactical switch among VIX ETFs. Long volatility when stocks look overheated or bonds lead; short volatility when cash-like T‑bills lead. Uses simple 5‑day RSI and moving average triggers. Extremely high risk and path‑dependent.
NutHow it works
It’s always 100% in one VIX fund. Daily check: 1) If the S&P 500 has been very “hot” this week (RSI>72), buy a VIX fund that benefits if volatility pops (UVXY or VIXY), picking the one most beaten‑down. 2) Otherwise compare T‑bills vs 7–10y Treasuries: if T‑bills look stronger, bet on calm by shorting volatility (SVIX). If Treasuries look stronger (risk‑off), go long volatility: buy VXX if it’s above its 5‑day average, else buy the more aggressive UVIX.
CheckmarkValue prop
Volatility-driven diversification: a tactical VIX-ETP switch designed to profit from volatility spikes and hedge stock risk. OOS: ~18%/yr vs S&P ~21%; Sharpe ~0.62 vs ~1.29. Higher drawdowns, but crisis upside and portfolio protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
