A daily market-timing strategy that usually leans hard into leveraged big-tech gains through QLD, but shifts to bonds, the dollar, defensive stocks, volatility, or an inverse Nasdaq fund when conditions look risky or overextended.

This strategy checks the stock market’s long-term trend first. If the market is healthy, it usually buys QLD, a fund that aims to move about 2x the Nasdaq-100 (big tech-heavy companies). If the market looks too hot, it steps aside into whichever is strongest among long-term Treasury bonds (TLT), the U.S. dollar (UUP), or consumer staples stocks (XLP). In rare extreme cases, it buys UVXY, a fund that rises when market fear spikes. If the market trend is weak, it sometimes buys QLD for a rebound, but may instead choose bonds (TLT) or QID, a fund that rises when the Nasdaq falls.

Out-of-sample, this regime-switching strategy delivers ~50% annualized return vs ~20% for the S&P, with solid risk-adjusted metrics (Calmar ~1.63, Sharpe ~1.28) driven by Nasdaq-100 leverage in favorable markets and defensive rotations in risk.
