About

Most days it holds SPY and QQQ. When those markets look extremely “hot” on multiple timeframes, it gradually shifts slices into UVXY, a VIX‑linked fund that can spike in sell‑offs but usually decays—creating a scaled volatility hedge.
NutHow it works
Each day it splits in two halves: SPY (S&P 500) and QQQ (Nasdaq‑100). In each half it runs 14 tests of RSI—a 0–100 “heat” gauge of recent price moves; very high = “too hot.” For each test that’s too hot, that slice holds UVXY—an ETF tied to VIX that jumps when stocks drop; otherwise it holds SPY/QQQ. More “too hot” tests = more UVXY. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted return than the S&P 500: Sharpe ~1.05 vs ~0.80, annualized return ~21.8% vs ~14.2%, Calmar ~1.05. It combines SPY/QQQ with a measured volatility hedge to boost gains and cut risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
