About

A trend-following, risk-managed U.S. stock strategy. It moves to T‑bills in market downtrends; otherwise holds up to five ETFs (growth, fundamental/value tilts, and a small 3x Nasdaq sleeve) only if they’re trending up, weighted toward calmer holdings.
NutHow it works
1) Check the trend of the Nasdaq-100 (using QQQ). If the short-term average price is below the long-term average, hold only ultra‑short U.S. Treasuries (BIL). 2) Otherwise, consider five U.S. stock funds. Each must be in its own uptrend; if not, that slot becomes BIL. One slot can be a 3x Nasdaq fund (TQQQ) only in a clear uptrend. 3) Spread money by giving more to calmer picks and less to jumpy ones. 4) Rebalance weekly.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500: Sharpe 1.26 vs 0.93, Calmar 1.52, max drawdown 8.7% vs 18.8%, beta 0.34. It hedges by moving to T-bills in downturns and only holds uptrends.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
