About

A tactical, rules-based strategy that flips between S&P 500 exposure, bonds/cash, shorts, and occasional volatility or tech bounce trades based on long-term trend and short-term “heat” (RSI) readings. High risk due to leveraged and inverse funds.
NutHow it works
1) First, it checks if the S&P 500 is above its long-term trend (200‑day average). 2) If yes: it usually holds S&P 500 funds (VOO/UPRO). If the market is “red hot” (RSI ~80+), it may switch to volatility funds (UVIX/UVXY) or add cash. 3) If no: it either shorts stocks, moves to Treasuries/cash, or takes rare oversold bounce trades (TECL). RSI is a 0–100 “heat meter”: >70–80 very hot, <30 very cold.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.26 vs 0.60, annualized return 46.8% vs 7.8%, and Calmar 4.78—driven by adaptive hedging and trend-based tilts. Higher growth with disciplined risk control, though drawdowns may be larger in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
