A mostly defensive timing strategy: it watches many markets for stress, buys a fear hedge when risk looks high, occasionally buys leveraged stock funds after sharp drops, and otherwise sits in a cash-like diversified basket.

The portfolio keeps 10% in cash and splits the rest across 5 mini-strategies. Each mini-strategy first checks for signs of market stress or overheating using recent price behavior across stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, and volatility. If danger looks high, it buys VIXY, a fund that tends to rise when fear spikes. If markets instead look sharply beaten down, it may buy a leveraged stock fund for a rebound. Otherwise it parks mostly in a conservative “better than cash” mix led by ultra-short bonds, plus small slices of gold, the U.S. dollar, Treasuries, managed futures, and stocks.
