A market-timing strategy that sits in T-bills when conditions look weak, but otherwise swings between aggressive leveraged tech bets, defensive stock funds, and a bearish Nasdaq position.

Each day, the strategy first asks: is the U.S. stock market in a healthy long-term uptrend? If not, it moves to very short-term Treasury bills (BIL). If yes, it looks for sharp drops in tech stocks. After big selloffs, it makes aggressive bets on a rebound using leveraged tech funds (TECL or TQQQ). If there is no major selloff, it either hides in defensive stock funds (SPHD or XLP) or bets against the Nasdaq with SQQQ, depending on whether the Nasdaq is above or below its recent trend.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
