About
A high-risk strategy that chases Nasdaq gains with TQQQ in good markets, but shifts toward bonds, volatility protection, or bearish positions when markets look weak or overheated.
This strategy mainly tries to ride big gains in TQQQ, a fund that aims to move about 3x the Nasdaq-100 each day. First it checks whether the broad U.S. market (SPY) is in a healthy long-term trend by comparing its price to its 200-day average.
If yes, it usually buys TQQQ. But if the market looks too overheated based on RSI—a 0-to-100 “speedometer” of recent price moves—it steps into a defensive mix of short-term bonds (BSV) and UVXY, a volatility fund that tends to jump when markets panic.
If the broad market is weak, it becomes cautious: 70% goes to short-term bonds, while 30% makes tactical bets in tech, the S&P 500, TQQQ, or SQQQ (which rises when the Nasdaq falls), depending on oversold and trend signals.
Upside potential with risk controls: OOS annualized return ~53% vs SPY ~19.8%, Calmar ~1.28. Dynamic Nasdaq exposure plus bonds/volatility hedges aim to capture gains while protecting capital; note drawdowns can exceed SPY.
