About

A tactical, hedge‑heavy stock strategy. It buys US stocks in uptrends, shifts to bonds or volatility hedges when markets look overheated or weak, and can short in downturns. Uses simple trend and “heat” gauges to switch.
NutHow it works
Three buckets: 1) Growth (~30%): US stocks (SPY, QQQ) or 3x versions (TQQQ/UPRO/TECL) when trends are up; step aside if they look “too hot.” 2) Hedges (~70%): rotates among Treasuries (TMF/TLT), inverse Treasuries (TMV), cash‑like T‑Bills (SHV/BIL), and volatility funds (SVXY gains when calm; VIXY/UVXY gain when fear spikes). 3) Can short (SH/PSQ/SQQQ). Uses trend lines (e.g., 200‑day) and RSI (0–100 “heat” gauge).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~17% annualized with lower drawdown (14.6% vs 18.8%), beta ~0.82, Calmar ~1.17—better risk-adjusted return than the S&P 500. Hedge-heavy, tactical allocation aims for steadier growth and downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
