About

Rules-based, tech-heavy strategy that rides uptrends with TQQQ, flips into volatility hedges (VIXY/UVXY) when markets look overheated, buys oversold dips with 3x tech, and falls back to a calmer LLY/NVO/COST/GE basket or SQQQ/TLT in downtrends.
NutHow it works
- Checks if the S&P 500 is above its 200‑day average (uptrend) or not. - Uses a short‑term “heat meter” (RSI): high = too hot; low = washed out. - Uptrend: mostly holds TQQQ (3x Nasdaq). If markets look overheated or fear spikes, it briefly flips into VIXY/UVXY (volatility funds). If tech weakens, it holds a calmer mix of LLY, NVO, COST, GE (sized toward steadier names). - Downtrend: buys oversold bounces (TECL/UPRO), or hedges with SQQQ (3x short Nasdaq) or TLT (Treasuries). If unclear, it toggles between risk‑on (SPHB) and defensive (BTAL).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: 33.3% annualized vs 21.5% S&P. Tactical tech leverage, volatility hedges, and quality-dip buys. Higher upside, but larger drawdowns (~45% vs ~19%); Calmar ~0.73 indicates balanced risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
