About

A daily, single-asset, leveraged strategy that bets on Nasdaq/tech in uptrends, uses RSI and a 200-day trend filter to switch between TQQQ, TECL, UPRO, SQQQ, TLT, and cash (BIL). It aims for high upside with a cash/hedge guard when momentum is extreme.
NutHow it works
- Every day, check if SPY is above its 200-day moving average. If yes, the regime is considered uptrend. If no, the system shifts toward risk-off assets. - In an uptrend, select a single instrument from: TQQQ, TECL, UPRO, SQQQ, TLT, or BIL, using short-term RSI signals and occasional price tests to decide which one to hold. - RSI is computed with a 10-day window to gauge recent momentum; very high RSI suggests taking risk off (move to BIL or hedges), very low RSI suggests tilt to leveraged bets that might rebound. - The process is one-asset-at-a-time: allocate 100% of capital to the chosen instrument each day after signals are evaluated. - The system includes a small rule-set to favor hedges (SQQQ, TLT) or stronger leverage (TECL, UPRO) depending on which assets show the strongest momentum or are least overbought. - The result is a daily-adjusted, single-position portfolio that aims to maximize upside in upswings while constraining risk with a cash proxy and occasional hedges.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets much higher upside than the S&P (about 52% annualized vs 19%), using a cash proxy and selective hedges to ride Nasdaq uptrends while limiting risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
