In weak trends it moves to cash/bonds (SHV, BND/TLT) or uses volatility funds (VIXY/UVXY, SVXY) and a bond‑momentum sleeve (TMF/TMV). Signals: moving averages (trend lines), RSI (0–100 buying/selling speed), and recent returns.
