About

A trend-following U.S. stock strategy. It splits money across the S&P 500, Nasdaq‑100, and Dow, and for four timeframes switches between regular ETFs (SPY/QQQ/DIA) and 3x versions (SPXL/TQQQ/UDOW) when short‑term prices outrun long‑term—higher risk from leverage.
NutHow it works
Your money is split evenly across three indexes: the S&P 500, the Nasdaq‑100, and the Dow. Each slice is split into four time windows. For each window, we compare a fast average of recent prices to a slower one. If fast > slow (uptrend), we use a 3x version (SPXL/TQQQ/UDOW); otherwise the regular fund (SPY/QQQ/DIA). A fast average uses fewer days and reacts quicker. Signals update over time; there’s no cash step.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this trend strategy targets ~47% annual return vs SPY’s ~23%, with Calmar ~1.25—strong risk-adjusted upside. Expect higher upside in uptrends, but leverage can magnify losses in choppy markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
