This strategy buys a basket of companies that were consistently near the top in getting patents approved from 2010–2017. A patent is a legal protection for an invention, so the idea is to own businesses with lots of proven R&D output. Every 3 months, it resets the portfolio so each stock has about the same weight. It mainly holds technology and industrial companies, with some healthcare and consumer names.
