A fast-moving market-timing strategy that swings between aggressive U.S. stocks, a fear/volatility fund, and the U.S. dollar based on whether the market looks overheated, healthy, or weak.

This strategy checks the U.S. stock market every day and moves all its money based on a few “temperature checks.” If the market looks too hot, it buys UVXY, a fund that tends to jump when fear spikes. If tech stocks look severely beaten down, it buys TECL, a very aggressive tech fund, betting on a bounce. If the market looks healthy—but not too hot—it spreads money across a basket of U.S. stock funds and Tesla, giving smaller weights to the bumpiest holdings. If the market looks weak, it hides in UUP, which tracks the U.S. dollar.

Out-of-sample, this strategy targets higher upside (19.67% vs 18.64% SPY) via regime switching and hedging. Trade-off: higher drawdown (~28% vs ~19%) and lower risk-adjusted Sharpe, so it’s a tactical diversification tool.
