About

A rules-based rotation strategy that targets growth in tech when conditions look favorable and guards against volatility by hedging and holding cash or short bonds.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based system that moves between cash, safe bonds, and two rotating asset groups. Signals come from volatility gauges (UVXY, SVXY, VIXM) and momentum/trend tests (RSI, moving-average checks). It uses a “rotator” to pick a single asset from each group (e.g., TQQQ, TECL, QQQ, BTAL, SVXY, VIXM) based on recent volatility and performance. If volatility spikes or a big drawdown looks likely, it shifts toward cash or short-term bonds (BIL). In favorable conditions, it tilts toward growth assets; in risky conditions, it uses hedges to reduce drawdowns.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this rotation strategy targets growth with hedges, delivering 19.65% annualized return vs SPY's 19.10% and a Calmar of 0.52. Dynamic rotation aims to capture upside while guarding against spikes; drawdowns may be larger.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
