A rules-based oil strategy that switches daily between betting oil will rise, betting oil will fall, or hiding in a diversified fallback mix based on broad market risk signals, energy-related trends, and short-term extremes.

This strategy is a daily oil trader with a lot of “market mood” filters. It first checks for very short-term extremes. If markets look unusually calm or washed out, it may buy oil; if the bet against oil already looks overheated, it may hide in Treasury bonds. If not, it asks whether markets are acting brave or defensive. In brave markets it may buy oil. In defensive markets it often bets against oil. When signals are mixed, it falls back to a spread-out mix of bonds, gold, tech, commodities, and a few other assets.
