About
A fast-moving natural gas strategy that uses broad market clues to decide when to bet on gas going up, going down, or step into safer assets.
This strategy mainly trades natural gas. It first reads the “economic weather” using many market clues from bonds, stocks, commodities, and credit.
If those clues favor rising gas, it buys natural-gas funds like UNL, UNG, or sometimes BOIL. If they favor falling gas, it buys KOLD, which rises when natural gas falls. If signals are mixed, it may hide in safer assets like short-term Treasuries, gold, or defensive holdings.
Out-of-sample, this macro gas strategy yields ~6.8% annual return vs SPY -5%, with 0.64 Sharpe, Calmar 2.21, and max drawdown ~3.09% vs SPY ~3.46%. Strong risk-adjusted upside and tighter downside protection.
