About

A rules-based, volatility-aware plan: in calm times it reaches for growth (leveraged Nasdaq) or a controlled short‑vol mix; in rough times it either buys a dip in Nasdaq or shifts to a diversified, defensive 5‑ETF basket.
NutHow it works
Step 1: Is the S&P 500 calm lately? If yes: if core bonds (BND) beat T‑bills (BIL) over ~3 months, buy QLD (2x Nasdaq‑100). If not, hold 55% SVXY (short volatility) + 45% VIXM (long volatility). If markets are jumpy: if the Nasdaq (QQQ) is very “oversold,” still buy QLD for a rebound; otherwise split evenly: SHY (short Treasuries), SPY (S&P 500), BTAL (defensive long/short), GLD (gold), XLP (consumer staples).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers ~30.5% annualized return vs SPY's ~22.4%, with adaptive growth/defense tilts and volatility hedges. Higher upside, disciplined risk (Calmar ~1.11), though drawdowns can be larger in turbulence.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
