About
A tactical, risk‑on/risk‑off strategy that watches how “hot/cold” tech is and how calm or choppy markets are. It rotates among leveraged tech, volatility hedges, a short‑vol blend, or a defensive mix, then averages two parallel checks.
It runs two quick “market health” checks and averages their answers.
- If big‑tech (QQQ) looks extremely hot (a high “heat” score called RSI), it hedges with volatility (UVXY) and a defensive fund (BTAL).
- If markets look calm, it either leans into tech (QLD) when bonds beat T‑bills, or uses a short‑vol trade (mostly SVXY with some VIXM).
- If choppy, it buys the dip in tech when it looks very cold (low RSI); otherwise it holds a safety mix (SHY, SPY, BTAL, GLD, XLP).
Out-of-sample edge: 27.16% return vs 22.36% S&P, lower drawdown 17.71% vs 18.76%, and Calmar 1.53. A risk-on/off approach with tech exposure and volatility hedges aims for more upside and better downside protection.
