About

Blends two calm/turbulence checks with a Nasdaq “heat” gauge. In calm regimes it goes risk‑on (2× Nasdaq) or runs a hedged short‑vol carry; in stress it hedges or holds a defensive basket. The two checks are averaged 50/50.
NutHow it works
It runs two similar rule-sets and splits money 50/50. It checks: (1) how “hot/cold” Nasdaq is (RSI = a speedometer of recent moves: high=overheated, low=washed‑out) and (2) how calm markets are (recent volatility). If calm and bonds beat T‑bills, it buys 2× Nasdaq. If overheated, it hedges with volatility funds. If not calm and not washed‑out, it holds a defensive mix (Treasuries, S&P 500, staples, gold, anti‑beta).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher upside with tighter risk: ~27% annualized vs ~22% for the S&P 500; drawdown ~17.7% vs ~18.8%; Calmar ~1.53. Adaptive hedges plus Nasdaq leverage seek stronger, smoother growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
