About

A rules-based, two-check “calm vs. stressed” strategy. In calm markets it leans into growth or a controlled short‑vol trade; in stress it buys only deep tech dips, otherwise parks in a diversified defensive basket.
NutHow it works
Your money is split between two checkers: one watches the VIX (fear gauge), one watches how choppy the S&P 500 is. If markets look calm: it either goes aggressive (QLD) when bonds beat cash, or runs a volatility trade (mostly SVXY with some VIXM) when they don’t. If markets look jumpy: it only buys a tech dip if it’s very oversold; otherwise it holds a defensive mix (SHY, SPY, BTAL, GLD, XLP).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return: 22.75% vs 22.36% for the S&P. Regime-driven allocation captures upside in calm markets and defense in stress with volatility hedges—delivering higher upside with disciplined risk management vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
