About

A timeless 60/40 plan using VTI (US stocks) and BND (US bonds), with quarterly rebalancing to maintain a 60/40 mix for growth with smoother ride.
NutHow it works
You split your money into two buckets: 60% goes to VTI, which covers almost all U.S. stocks, and 40% goes to BND, which covers most U.S. investment-grade bonds. Stocks aim for growth; bonds help reduce big drops in value. Every quarter, you check the mix. If stocks have run up and the mix is now 70/30, you sell a bit of stocks and buy bonds to bring it back to 60/40. Over time this keeps you growing with less volatility than stocks alone.
CheckmarkValue prop
60/40 rebalance strategy: smaller out-of-sample drawdowns (17.6% vs 22.1% S&P) and a smoother ride, delivering steadier growth (~8.5% vs 14% S&P) with meaningful downside protection from bonds.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
