About

A rules-based, all‑weather portfolio blending gold, Treasuries, commodities, dollar, global stocks, and a tech growth sleeve. It shifts between offense and defense using trend, momentum, and volatility cues to seek resilience in booms and busts.
NutHow it works
Rules-driven, all‑weather mix inspired by the Dragon Portfolio. It splits money across: crash insurance (UVXY/VIX, long Treasuries/dollar), inflation hedges (gold; trend trades in oil, gas, ag, base metals, uranium, timber), global stocks only if they beat bonds, and a tech‑growth sleeve that turns off in downtrends. It flips using simple checks: trend vs 200‑day average, big recent drops, and “too hot/too cold” gauges (RSI).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted performance and upside: Sharpe ~1.89 vs 1.37, annualized ~30% vs ~22%, and drawdown ~13% vs ~19%, with Calmar ~2.30, making it more resilient and growth-oriented than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
