About
A high-risk market-timing strategy that mostly bets on leveraged tech, but switches into volatility, bearish Nasdaq, semiconductors, or short-term bonds based on long- and short-term market signals.
This is a very aggressive market-timing strategy built around **TQQQ**, a fund that tries to deliver **3x the daily move of the Nasdaq-100** (big tech-heavy companies).
First, it asks: **Is TQQQ above its 200-day average price?** That is a simple way to judge whether the long-term trend in big growth/tech stocks is healthy.
• **If yes:** it usually buys **TQQQ**. But if TQQQ has risen *too far, too fast*—measured by **RSI(10) above 79**—it switches to **UVXY**, a product tied to stock-market volatility, looking for a pullback or spike in fear. This branch appears to use only **80%** of the portfolio, leaving about **20% in cash**.
• **If no:** the strategy gets more tactical. If TQQQ looks **very oversold** (**RSI(10) below 31**), it buys **SOXL**, a **3x semiconductor fund**, betting on a sharp rebound in chip stocks.
• Otherwise, it checks short-term trend weakness. If TQQQ is below its **20-day average**, it chooses the stronger of:
– **SQQQ**: a **3x inverse Nasdaq-100 fund** that rises when the Nasdaq falls, or
– **BSV**: a **short-term bond fund**, a more defensive parking place.
• If that short-term weakness test is not triggered, it buys **TECL**, a **3x technology-sector fund**.
In plain English: this strategy is trying to surf powerful moves in tech, but it uses very aggressive tools and occasionally flips into volatility, bearish Nasdaq exposure, or short-term bonds when conditions look poor. It is **high risk** because most of its choices are leveraged funds.
Tech-driven, tactical timing with 3x exposure and hedges offers diversification from the S&P 500. In out-of-sample tests, it seeks upside in tech rallies and uses volatility and inverse Nasdaq hedges to manage risk in choppier markets.
