About

A rules-driven, risk-on/risk-off strategy. In fear or rate stress it shifts to cash-like and hedging positions; in calm uptrends it leans into high-octane tech/semiconductor ETFs (often 3x), using a simple 0–100 “heat meter” (RSI) to time entries and exits.
NutHow it works
It’s a rule-based “risk switch.” First, it checks if fear is high (using volatility). If yes, it parks in safer spots: T‑bills, USD, gold, market‑neutral or short funds. If not, it looks at interest‑rate and trend signals. In calm/uptrends it buys fast‑moving tech/semis (often 3x funds). It uses RSI—a 0–100 heat meter of recent ups vs downs—to spot “overbought/oversold” and flip between bullish and bearish positions. It always keeps some hedges (USD, gold, short‑term Treasuries).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 32.2% annualized return vs 27.6% for the S&P, 12.4% max drawdown vs 18.8%, and Calmar 2.60. Sharpe ~1.57. Adds hedges and regime-switching for higher, more resilient growth than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
