About

Rules-based plan: in uptrends hold a diversified 4‑ETF stock mix, adding a volatility or Treasury hedge when markets run hot. In downtrends, buy very oversold dips with 3× funds; otherwise rotate into short tech or bonds for defense.
NutHow it works
1) Trend: If SPY > its 200‑day average (uptrend), hold 4 stock ETFs equally: SCHD (US dividend), VXUS (intl), IJR (US small‑cap), SPYG (US growth). If “very hot” (RSI10>80) add VIXY (volatility). If “medium hot” (RSI60>60) add TLT (long Treasuries). 2) If SPY < 200‑day (downtrend), buy very “cold” dips (RSI10<30) with TECL (3× tech) or UPRO (3× S&P 500). If no dip and tech is weakening (QQQ<20‑day), either go short tech (QID/PSQ) or hold the strongest of PSQ, TLT, or BSV (short‑term bonds). If tech isn’t weakening, use SPHD (low‑vol dividend). RSI = 0–100 “heat meter”; moving averages = trend.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~21.76% (nearly SPY at 21.82%). Regime-switching, rules-based mix of diversified stocks with hedges targets SPY-like upside with disciplined risk control and broader diversification. Calmar ~0.88; expect higher drawdowns in stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
