About

A daily, rules-based plan that rides tech uptrends with 3x ETFs and quickly shifts to cash, bonds, volatility hedges, or inverse funds when markets are overheated or trending down. It uses long- and short-term trend plus a simple hot/cold gauge (RSI).
NutHow it works
Each day it asks: is the market (S&P 500) in an uptrend (above its 200‑day average)? If yes, it rides big tech with 3x funds (TQQQ/TECL/UPRO) when price is above short‑term averages. If things look “hot” (RSI = a 0–100 hot/cold gauge) or after big spikes, it hedges with volatility (VIXY) and cash (BIL). If things look “cold” (very low RSI), it buys dips. In downtrends it prefers cash/bonds or inverse funds (SQQQ), sometimes gold.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers ~55.7% annualized returns versus SPY’s ~20.6%, with a 1.17 Sharpe and 1.36 Calmar—strong risk-adjusted gains. It tolerates higher drawdowns (~41%) for tech-led upside, powered by disciplined hedges and trend rules.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
