About

Holds the S&P 500 when it’s rising. If the S&P 500 has been flat/down recently, it rotates into the two strongest “anti‑ESG” sectors: energy, defense, gaming, and leisure/entertainment—aiming for relative strength in weak markets.
NutHow it works
It watches the S&P 500 (ticker: SPY). If SPY has not gone up over the last ~2 months, it moves out of SPY and splits the money equally between the two strongest of four sector funds: energy (IYE), aerospace/defense (ITA), gaming (ESPO), and leisure/entertainment (PEJ). If SPY has been up, it holds SPY.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for ~23% annualized return vs SPY's ~14%, with higher Sharpe (~1.22) and Calmar near 1.0. It stays in up markets and rotates to top anti-ESG sectors in weak markets for extra upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
