A high-risk market-timing strategy that either buys bullish tech funds, bearish tech funds, or moves to Treasury bills, based on long-term Nasdaq trend and short-term tech strength.
NutHow it works
Each day, the strategy first checks whether the Nasdaq-100 fund QQQ is in a healthy long-term uptrend by seeing if its price is above its 200-day average. If not, it moves everything into BIL, a very short-term Treasury-bill fund. If yes, it compares recent strength in tech (XLK) versus KMLM, a trend-following fund used as a market “stress gauge.” If tech looks stronger, it buys 2 bullish leveraged tech funds. If not, it buys 2 bearish leveraged tech funds. In either case, it picks the 2 that have cooled off the most recently.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
