About

A contrarian “heat check”: when QQQ or SPY look extremely overbought, switch 100% into VIXY to bet on a near‑term volatility pop; otherwise stay in cash-like T‑Bills (BIL). Rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
Each day it asks: Are big US stock indexes extremely hot? It uses a 10‑day RSI (a simple “overheating” score from 0–100). If QQQ’s RSI > 80, buy VIXY—a fund that usually rises when market fear/volatility jumps. If not, but SPY’s RSI > 80, also buy VIXY. Otherwise sit in BIL, a cash‑like T‑Bill fund. Recheck daily and switch as the signal changes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Smart volatility-timing: out-of-sample Sharpe ~1.16 and Calmar ~1.71 with only 2.8% max drawdown vs S&P's ~18.8%. It switches to VIXY on frothy markets and stays in cash, offering better risk-adjusted returns with less downside than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
