About

When the Nasdaq’s short-term trend is above its long-term trend, hold the 3 hottest Big Tech stocks. Otherwise, rotate into the 3 strongest U.S. sectors via Vanguard ETFs. Rules-based, equal-weight, rebalanced monthly.
NutHow it works
Each month, the plan asks: Is QQQ (a Nasdaq‑100 fund heavy in tech) trending up? It checks if the 5‑day average price is above the 200‑day average (short‑term vs long‑term). If yes, buy equal amounts of the 3 best performers over the last ~20 days from META, AMZN, AAPL, MSFT, GOOG, ADBE, NVDA, PPL. If not, buy equal amounts of the 3 Vanguard sector ETFs with the strongest ~200‑day returns (from Energy, Real Estate, Health Care, etc.).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~29% vs SPY ~22%. A disciplined two-mode, rules-based strategy: chase tech momentum (top 3 mega-cap winners) when Nasdaq leads, or rotate to the strongest sectors when it doesn’t. Monthly, equal-weighted.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
