About

A tech‑first, momentum strategy with a 200‑day S&P 500 trend switch: risk‑on holds top big‑tech/AI stocks and tech ETFs; risk‑off rotates into the best of bonds, gold/silver, utilities, low‑vol stocks, or broad market ETFs. Checked daily.
NutHow it works
Each day, it checks the market’s trend: is the S&P 500 (SPY) above its 200‑day average price? If not, it goes defensive—equally splitting across the 3 strongest of: low‑vol stocks (USMV), silver (SLV), utilities (XLU), gold (GLD), bonds (BND, IEF), broad U.S. stocks (VOO, VTI), or real estate (VNQ), using recent 50‑day strength. If yes, it goes on offense—75% into the 3 strongest big‑tech/AI stocks (NVDA, MSFT, META, GOOG, TSLA, ASML, SNOW, PLTR, AMD, ISRG) and 25% into the 2 strongest tech/semis ETFs (BOTZ, ROBO, VGT, SOXX), using 90‑day trends. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy outperforms SPY: ~50% annualized return vs ~20%, Sharpe ~1.50 vs ~1.06, Calmar ~1.62. Max drawdown ~31% vs ~19%. More upside with disciplined risk-on/risk-off switching.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
