About

A rules‑driven 60/30/10 portfolio with a tech tilt that rotates among sectors, trends, and hedges (including VIX funds) and can briefly use leveraged or short ETFs. Trades frequently—best in tax‑sheltered accounts. Needs roughly $50k+ due to non‑fractional ETFs.
NutHow it works
Base mix: ~60% stocks, 30% bonds, 10% dollar/gold/real assets. Within U.S. stocks, tech is largest (~32%), then health care, financials, consumer, industrials, staples, energy, utilities, materials, real estate, and communications. When markets look “too hot,” it temporarily shifts slices into crash‑protection (VIX funds) or defensive hedges. If fear spikes, it runs a more defensive recipe. It can short semis when chips look overheated and briefly use growth boosters (like 3x tech) in strong upswings. Bonds, the dollar, and gold are held only when their own trends are strong. Rebalanced daily, so it trades often.
CheckmarkValue prop
Tech-tilted, rules-driven strategy with strong downside protection: oos max drawdown ~9.8% vs SPY ~18.8%, Calmar ~1.22, Sharpe ~1.02—delivers similar risk-adjusted upside but far less drawdown and lower beta than the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
