About

A daily, rules‑based portfolio that buys 3x tech/semis/S&P on dips, hedges with VXX when stocks run “too hot,” and rotates into Treasuries, commodities, or shorts when stress rises. KMLM (managed futures) is used as a cross‑asset sanity check to help tame drawdowns.
NutHow it works
Every day the rules read a “hot/cold” meter (RSI: a 0–100 speedometer) on big stock funds (SPY, QQQ) and sectors. If readings are very hot, it adds a volatility hedge (VXX) or shorts; if very cold, it buys 3x bull funds (TQQQ, TECL, SOXL). It also rotates into Treasuries (TMF/TMV) and gold/oil as trends shift. KMLM (a trend‑following managed‑futures fund) is a cross‑asset check. Goal: ride uptrends, protect on pullbacks. Uses leveraged/inverse ETFs—high risk.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe 2.90 vs S&P 2.54; OOS return ~82% vs ~29%; Calmar ~10.8 signals strong risk-adjusted upside; beta ~0.74 implies less market sensitivity. Diversified hedges/cross-asset checks target bigger, steadier gains than the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
