About

A tactical barbell: 75% in convertibles or T‑bills, 25% in tech or hedged tech trades. Bond‑market trends (TIP, LQD, HYG) flag when rates/liquidity favor risk. In good times: convertibles + tech. In bad times: cash‑like bills + contrarian/hedged tech.
NutHow it works
Barbell: 75% safety, 25% growth. A bond‑market “health check” decides the stance. If inflation‑protected Treasuries (TIP) and high‑grade corporates (LQD) trend up—and junk bonds (HYG) are firm—hold convertibles (ICVT, 75%) and tech (XLK, 25%). If not, park 75% in T‑bills (BIL) and in the tech sleeve either buy a short, sharp rebound (TECL) or hedge with inverse tech (TECS) plus long Treasuries (TLT). Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Adaptive barbell strategy uses a regime filter to switch between safety (T-bills) and growth (convertibles/tech). Out-of-sample: 9.68% annualized return, Calmar 1.26, with risk controls—designed as a disciplined, rules-based complement to the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
