About

Each month, hold eight mega‑caps: four tech names with the strongest recent gains and four defensive giants with the best ~10‑month results. Split money 50/50 between the two groups, equal‑weight. Simple, long‑only, low‑maintenance.
NutHow it works
Once a month, the portfolio picks from two lists of very large, familiar companies. - Tech list (Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nvidia, TSMC, ASML, Broadcom, Oracle): keep the 4 with the strongest ~6‑month price rise. - Defensive list (big healthcare/consumer/payments like J&J, Merck, Eli Lilly, Coca‑Cola, Pepsi, Costco, Walmart, Visa, Mastercard, Berkshire, etc.): keep the best 4 over ~10 months. Put 50% in each list, equal‑weight across the 8 stocks. A cash‑like ETF (SGOV) is a technical fallback that never triggers.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~255% vs SPY ~199%, with positive alpha (~1.2%). A simple monthly rotation of 8 mega-caps (4 tech, 4 defensives) offers diversified, low-maintenance exposure with higher upside than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
