About

A daily, tactical long/short volatility strategy: buy UVXY when markets look overheated or drop fast; otherwise short volatility with SVIX, tempered by some SPXU. Can sit in SPY or T‑bills. Very active and high risk.
NutHow it works
Daily it checks if stocks are too hot or falling fast using simple heat/jumpiness gauges (RSI = recent‑speed meter; stdev = how jumpy). If hot/falling, it buys fear (UVXY, a volatility fund). If calm/trending, it shorts fear (SVIX), often with a small inverse S&P brake (SPXU). In very quiet trends it may hold SPY or T‑bills (SGOV/BIL). A tax switch can park in SGOV.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted returns and far smaller drawdowns than the S&P 500: ultra-high Sharpe, near-zero beta, ~1% max drawdown vs ~2.6% for SPY, plus dynamic volatility hedging for stress protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
