About
A daily switcher that hedges with VIXY when markets look overheated, buys tech (XLK) on sharp dips, rides calm markets via SVXY or VTI (whichever is stronger), and goes defensive with BTAL when short‑volatility isn’t trending.
Daily, it checks simple signals.
- If QQQ or SPY looks “overheated” (RSI>80), it buys VIXY (goes up when market fear jumps).
- If QQQ looks “washed out” (RSI<30), it buys XLK (US large‑cap tech).
- Otherwise: if SVXY (benefits from calm) is above its 24‑day average, it picks the stronger of SVXY or VTI (broad US stocks) over the last 20 days; if not, it holds BTAL (defensive, market‑neutral).
Out-of-sample, this strategy adds diversification with a lower beta and solid risk-adjusted resilience (Calmar ~0.75). It hedges volatility and shifts to defensive/tech-rebound plays, complementing the S&P 500.
