About

Aggressive, tactical sector strategy that bets on reversals and short‑term trends. It toggles between sector ETFs, their inverse/leveraged versions, and a volatility hedge (UVXY), weighted by recent volatility. High turnover and risk.
NutHow it works
It’s a two-part, daily‑traded sector strategy. Half “fades extremes”: it ranks US sectors by longer‑term strength, then, inside those picks, it quickly flips between owning the sector (e.g., XLK tech) or a fund that rises if it falls (inverse) using simple heat/cold gauges (RSI) and trend checks (moving averages). The other half rotates into one oversold sector (sometimes a 2x–3x bull ETF) or, if markets look overheated, a volatility hedge (UVXY). The two halves are blended, favoring the calmer one.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Calmar 2.85 and Sharpe ~1.0 signal strong risk-adjusted performance; OOS return ≈21.3% with hedging (UVXY) and sector rotation—a diversifier aiming for upside with active risk control versus the plain S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
