About

A simple daily switch: if cash (BIL) beat the S&P 500 (SPY) over ~2 months, hold a defensive mix of blue‑chips, dividends, utilities, T‑Bills, and gold. If stocks lead, go aggressive with 3× S&P 500 (UPRO) and 3× Nasdaq‑100 (TQQQ), equal‑weighted.
NutHow it works
Every day the strategy asks: over the last 60 days, did short‑term T‑Bills (BIL, cash‑like) do as well as or better than the S&P 500 (SPY)? - If yes (risk‑off): split equally across DIA (Dow blue‑chips), VIG (dividend growers), VYM (high dividend), VPU (utilities), BIL (T‑Bills), GLD (gold). - If no (risk‑on): split equally between UPRO (3× S&P 500) and TQQQ (3× Nasdaq‑100). Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~42% annualized vs ~21% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.31. The strategy switches between defensive assets and leveraged growth to pursue big upside while aiming to control risk—though drawdowns can be larger in stressed markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
