About
A market-timing strategy: if cash has recently beaten stocks, it plays defense with dividends, utilities, gold, and T-bills; if stocks are stronger, it goes aggressive with 3x leveraged S&P 500 and Nasdaq funds.
Every day, the strategy asks a simple question: over the last 60 days, did cash-like Treasury bills (BIL) do better than the broad U.S. stock market (SPY)?
If yes, it shifts into a more defensive mix: blue-chip stocks, dividend stocks, utilities, short-term T-bills, and gold.
If no, it gets aggressive and splits money between two 3x leveraged U.S. stock funds: UPRO and TQQQ.
Out-of-sample: ~34.9% annualized return vs SPY ~19.2%, Calmar ~1.08. A simple regime-switch engine shifts to defensive assets when cash outperforms stocks and to 3x leverage when stocks dominate. Higher potential gains with some drawdown risk (~32%).
