About

Simple 90% U.S. stocks (SPY) + 10% gold (GLD), rebalanced yearly. Aims for strong growth from stocks while gold helps smooth some rough patches and inflation surprises.
NutHow it works
Put 90% in SPY (owns the 500 biggest U.S. companies like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon) and 10% in GLD (tracks the price of gold). Once a year, reset back to 90/10 by trimming the one that grew more and adding to the one that lagged. Goal: stock-led growth with a small gold cushion for market or inflation shocks.
CheckmarkValue prop
90% SPY / 10% GLD, annual rebalance. Out-of-sample: higher return (~19.8% vs 17.9%), lower drawdown (~16.6% vs 18.8%), better risk-adjusted return (Sharpe ~1.27 vs 1.08), and lower beta (~0.91) vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
