About

A rule-driven switcher: ride uptrends with 2x S&P/Nasdaq, buy oversold dips, and rotate to shock absorbers (VIXY, bonds, gold, defensive/short ETFs) when markets look hot or weak. Seeks to beat buy‑and‑hold SSO with smaller drawdowns and few trades.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based switch. When the market is healthy (S&P 500 above its 200‑day average), it holds a 2x S&P fund (SSO). After sharp selloffs, it buys 2x Nasdaq (QLD) or 2x S&P (RSI is a 0–100 “stretched/washed‑out” gauge; <30 = oversold). When things look overheated (RSI high), it parks in shock absorbers: volatility (VIXY), short/long Treasuries (BSV/TLT), gold (IAU), defensive hedges (BTAL/EUM), or inverse Nasdaq (PSQ/SQQQ). Goal: beat SSO with smaller drawdowns.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy aims for ~38% annualized return vs 18% S&P, with better risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~1.03, Calmar ~1.52) through regime switching and hedges, accepting higher drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
