About
An aggressive one-holding strategy: hide in a market-fear fund during volatility spikes; otherwise own whichever of chips, energy, commodities, or a leveraged S&P 500 fund has the strongest recent trend.
This strategy usually holds just 1 investment at a time.
First it checks VIXM, a fund tied to market fear. If that fear gauge has surged recently, it moves fully into VIXM as a crisis trade.
If not, it picks the single strongest recent performer from this list: chip stocks/funds, a leveraged S&P 500 fund, commodities, energy, or Enphase.
Out-of-sample return ≈38.7% vs ≈21.2% for the S&P, with a VIX-based crash hedge and disciplined momentum rotation to the top performer. Higher upside for risk-tolerant investors, though drawdowns can be larger.
