About

A monthly-balanced strategy: 60% to stable Apple/Microsoft (30% each), 20% to the strongest momentum between Tesla/Nvidia, and 20% to a USD ballast (USDU). Rebalance monthly.
NutHow it works
Here’s how it works in simple terms: - Every month, the strategy splits your money into three buckets: 60% to Low Vol, 20% to High Vol, and 20% to Ballast. - Low Vol bucket: You own Apple and Microsoft, split evenly between them (30% each of the total portfolio). This part aims for stable, reliable exposure. - High Vol bucket: You look at Tesla and Nvidia, and you pick the one that has performed best recently (using a 10-day lookback). The winner gets the full 20% allocation for this bucket. This adds growth potential when momentum is favorable. - Ballast bucket: You hold USDU (a USD-focused fund) to provide a counterbalance. It gets 20% and uses a 21-day lookback in its logic to smooth or adjust its role. - Rebalancing: At the end of each month, you reset the allocations back to these target weights, repeating the process. The short lookback windows (10 days for the momentum check, 21 days for ballast) drive which assets are chosen for High Vol and how ballast behaves over time.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~30% annualized return vs ~22% S&P, higher Sharpe (~1.34) and positive alpha, with a diversified 60/20/20 mix (core, momentum, ballast). Accept higher drawdowns for bigger upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
