About

Switches to SOXL (3x semiconductor stocks) after a very sharp 2‑day S&P 500 drop, aiming to catch a bounce; otherwise holds XLP (defensive consumer‑staples). High risk when in SOXL; more defensive otherwise.
NutHow it works
It watches the S&P 500 using SPY (a fund tracking the 500 biggest U.S. stocks). A quick 2‑day “speedometer” (RSI) checks if the market just dropped very hard. If that reading falls under 10, it buys SOXL—an ETF aiming to triple the daily moves of big chipmakers—to catch a fast rebound. Otherwise, it stays in XLP, a defensive fund of household‑goods companies. SOXL is very risky and can swing a lot.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets bigger gains: ~35.6% return vs SPY’s ~20.1%, by switching to 3x levered semis after drops and to staples otherwise. Expect higher volatility and up to ~40% drawdown vs SPY’s ~19%.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
