About

All-in trend follower with a crash switch: if market fear (VIX) is surging, move into VIXM; otherwise own whichever of chips, SPY, commodities, energy, or ENPH has the best recent momentum.
NutHow it works
It holds one thing at a time. First it checks a “fear” gauge: VIXM, a fund tied to the VIX (the stock market’s volatility index). If VIXM has been rising unusually fast (RSI>69 over 40 days), it buys VIXM. Otherwise it buys the single strongest 3‑month performer among chips (SOXX, NVDA, AMD), broad U.S. stocks (SPY), commodities (DBC), energy (XLE), or solar (ENPH). It switches only when the signal changes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~42.6% annualized return vs SPY’s ~22%, with Calmar ~1.0. It hedges spikes via VIX and rides the top momentum asset. Higher upside, but expect larger drawdowns in stress.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
