About

A daily SPDR ETF momentum rotator: pick the top 2 performers from a broad SPDR universe over the last 10 days and split the portfolio evenly with cash, rebalancing every day.
NutHow it works
Every trading day, look across a broad set of SPDR ETFs. For each ETF, calculate its cumulative return over the last 10 trading days. Rank by the highest 10-day gain and pick the top 2. Then allocate the portfolio evenly across cash and those two ETFs (roughly one-third each) and rebalance to those weights daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample SPDR momentum strategy targets top performers across a broad ETF universe, delivering ~34.4% annualized return vs ~10.1% for the S&P, with higher risk-adjusted Sharpe (~1.25 vs ~0.89) and Calmar (~3.45)—diversified upside with daily rotation.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
