About

A very simple, buy-and-hold strategy that tracks the S&P 500 by holding SPY and not rebalancing.
NutHow it works
This is a simple, buy-and-hold strategy: you purchase SPY, an ETF designed to track the S&P 500 index. It has no automatic rebalancing because there is only one asset. The expected result is that your investment mirrors the S&P 500's moves: when the market goes up, SPY goes up; when the market falls, SPY falls. Any dividend payments from SPY would add to returns if treated as yield, but the basic price movement reflects the index. The 'cash-equal' label is not active here since there is no other asset to balance with cash; you end up with 100% SPY exposure and 0% cash.
CheckmarkValue prop
Investors get SPY exposure with a proven, high risk-adjusted profile: out-of-sample Sharpe ~1.42, annualized return ~22.60%, beta ~1, max drawdown ~18.76%, Calmar ~1.20. Nearly identical to SPY with simple buy-and-hold, low maintenance.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
